Magnavox


Magnavox started out as an American company. Founded in 1915, the company has produced for both consumers and government in the form of defense electronics. 1974, Phillips acquired Magnavox and began to market electronics under Phillip Magnavox. Sony marketed their lower end CD players under Magnavox brand. Now, Phillip and Magnavox have separate brand and separate product line. Phillips markets and sells lower end of their consumer electronics under Magnavox line. As such, the Magnavox Blu-ray player sells at a lower price point than other players.
